ENERGY: ROUNDTABLE - Building Integrated Solar Technologies

Room with a view

The room with a view session is part of a structured series of meetings, which pursue the identification of promising seminal topics and niches for cross-border cooperation between technology oriented SMEs in the field of solar technologies. Bigger companies and research institutes are invited to join such cooperation consortia.

The aim of the upcoming round-table session was to make players within the solar industry start thinking outside the box (beyond the scope of their daily business) and create cooperation consortia on the topics "PV module production", PV for the built environment" and "Hybrid systems (PV & ST) and solar energy storage". 

In total 42 actors from the the field of solar technologies in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine participated in three different round table sessions. Inspired by technological flowcharts participants had to answer the following questions:

1. Where do you see important innovative potential for your company? / What kind of innovation are you thinking of?

2. Which competencies do you have to realize them?

3. Which additional competences do you need?

There were in total four different rounds of discussion. The topics for cooperation became more precise with every round. In the end several participants already confirmed, that the event lay the foundation for new cooperation. Altogether more than 10 promising ideas for cross-border cooperation were identified.

Supported by the TTc project team participants are now invited to  work out proposals for cross-border cooperation with which to apply for funding via a fast and easy procedure!
